This foundation was established by Madeleine and Clancy Philippe in 2009, to assist persons and families affected by breast and ovarian cancers.
It came about after Madeleine won her battle with breast cancer in 2007 and ovarian cancer in 2009, and to share Madeleine and Clancy's experience with others. Unfortunately, secondary breast and ovarian cancers struck back in 2010 and 2011. Madeleine passed away at 3.23 am on 11 February 2011.

Madeleine, who left us in 2011 after a five-year battle with breast and ovarian cancers, was an excellent chef and promoter of Mauritian Cuisine. Her dream of publishing and sharing her recipes was realised by Clancy who published a book on Mauritian Cuisine in 2017.
In 2014, Clancy also published the book "Losing a Soul Mate to Cancer" telling about their five year encounter with breast and ovarian cancers.
Assoc. Prof. Ian Haines:
"She was a most delightful, positive, determined and courageous lady who coped remarkably well with a terrible illness. It was a privilege to have known Madeleine and been able to help care for her."
Liz Coates (long-time friend of Clancy):
"This emotional rollercoaster described the journey of one man losing his lifelong partner to cancer and deyails how he tries to come to terms with the bereavement and prepares to face life without her."
This was a dream come true. The book "Best of Mauritian Cuisine" by Madeleine Philippe (posthumously) and Clancy Philippe, was selected for and awarded multiple awards by the Gourmand Cookbook Awards, that were founded in 1995 by Edouard Cointreau. Every year Gourmand gives the awards in a very special location for gastronomy. Clancy attended the 2018 award ceremony in Yantai, China where he met publishers, authors, chefs and journalists who take part in these events.
At the Madeleine Philippe Cancer Foundation, our mission is to increase awareness around the early detection of breast and ovarian cancers. We strive to advocate for and raise awareness for hereditary cancer research, ensuring that affected individuals receive the support they need.
We love to pass on our experience in battling breast and ovarian cancer, so feel free to contact and talk to us during normal business hours.
